Review of heat transfer mechanisms in pool boiling

Due to extensive research effort within the past thirty years, the mechanism of pool boiling is relatively well understood and had various applications in reactors, rockets, distillation, air separation, refrigeration and power cycles. However, it is still not possible to predict heat transfer characteristics for this simplest of boiling systems with the precision associated with single-phase systems. Pool boiling mechanism is a heat transfer mechanism carrying a phase transition from liquid to vapor. In this paper an overview of heat transfer mechanisms in pool boiling - natural convection, nucleate boiling, transition boiling and film boiling, including recent advances made toward understanding of nucleate and transition boiling, is presented. A few comments are made with respect to the theoretical and experimental studies that should be made in the future to further our understanding of the boiling process.
Usled velikog istraživačkog napora u poslednjih trideset godina, mehanizam ključanja u velikoj zapremini je relativno dobro shvaćen i našao je široku primenu kod reaktora, raketa, procesa destilacije, separacije vazduha, hlađenja i u energetskim ciklusima. Međutim, još uvek nije moguće predvideti karakteristike prenosa toplote za ovaj najjednostavniji dvofazni sistem sa preciznošću koja se odnosi na jednofazne sisteme. Mehanizam ključanja u velikoj zapremini predstavlja mehanizam prenosa toplote koji uslovljava faznu promenu vode u paru. U ovom radu je izložen pregled mehanizama prenosa toplote pri ključanju u velikoj zapremini - slobodne konvekcije, mehurastog ključanja, prelaznog i filmskog ključanja, uključujući novija dostignuća u razumevanju mehurastog i prelaznog ključanja. Nekoliko komentara je napravljeno sa osvrtom na teoretske i eksperimentalne radove koje bi trebalo izvesti u budućnosti u cilju daljeg razumevanja procesa ključanja.
