TL dosimetry application for accelerator X-ray beam intercomparison
The first absorbed dose intercomparison among different accelerator X-ray beams (NAP 6,8,10,15,18 MV), used fur patient treatment in Yugoslav radiation oncology hospitals, was performed both with NE 2571 ionization chamber and with TL dosimeters (LiF:Mg,Ti; Li2B4O7:Mn,Si and MgB4O7:Dy,Na) developed and manufactured at the Institute of Nuclear Sciences Vinca, Belgrade. Convenient TL material characteristics, previously demonstrated for Co-60 gamma beams, were confirmed for megavoltage X-ray beams. The result of dose intercomparison was in the ii-ante of radiotherapy requirements with two exceptions, which belongs to the state of accelerator units at the moment. The conclusions are directed to the proposal of TL dosimeter application for regular intercomparison among radiotherapy accelerator units.
