Temporal variations of the radioactivity in the near ground layer of air
Abstract
The concentration of radionuclides in the layer of air above the ground continuously varies due to entry and exit of radionuclides both from the earth and atmosphere and decay processes. We have tried to establish the regularity of these changes, based on an analysis of results from twenty eight years of systematic measurements of radioactivity. We have concluded that these changes occurred under the influence of monotonous and impulse factors. Based on the analysis of distribution functions of air samples or the fallout in relation to the radionuclide content, it was shown that several types of impulses exist which differ in time duration and amplitude. We have partly explained their nature and regularity of changes based on correlations with seismic, mechanical and temperature changes.
