dc.description.abstractThe effect of UV irradiation on the metabolism of glycogen-like polysaccharides in Salmonella typhimurium and Escherivhia coli 15 T-A-U- was investigated by determining the glycogen content of bacteria at different time intervals after irradiation exposure. The results obtained with the doses applied indicate that the UV irradiation markedly changes the metabolism of glycogen and they might suggest and alteration in the synthesis of the glycogen-like polysaccharides in the bacterial cell.en
