AB  - Vaccination is one of the greatest achievements in biomedical research preventing death and morbidity in many infectious diseases through the induction of pathogen-specific humoral and cellular immune responses. Currently, no effective vaccines are available for pathogens with a highly variable antigenic load, such as the human immunodeficiency virus or to induce cellular T-cell immunity in the fight against cancer. The recent SARS-CoV-2 outbreak has reinforced the relevance of designing smart therapeutic vaccine modalities to ensure public health. Indeed, academic and private companies have ongoing joint efforts to develop novel vaccine prototypes for this virus. Many pathogens are covered by a dense glycan-coat, which form an attractive target for vaccine development. Moreover, many tumor types are characterized by altered glycosylation profiles that are known as “tumor-associated carbohydrate antigens”. Unfortunately, glycans do not provoke a vigorous immune response and generally serve as T-cell-independent antigens, not eliciting protective immunoglobulin G responses nor inducing immunological memory. A close and continuous crosstalk between glycochemists and glycoimmunologists is essential for the successful development of efficient immune modulators. It is clear that this is a key point for the discovery of novel approaches, which could significantly improve our understanding of the immune system. In this review, we discuss the latest advancements in development of vaccines against glycan epitopes to gain selective immune responses and to provide an overview on the role of different immunogenic constructs in improving glycovaccine efficacy.

Potential application of low molecular weight excipients for amorphization and dissolution enhancement of carvedilol

AB  - In this study, four low molecular weight (LMW) excipients, tryptophan (TRY), phenylalanine (PHE), lysine (LYS) and saccharin (SAC) were evaluated as co-formers to generate co-amorphous systems (CAMS) by ball milling with carvedilol (CRV). Mixtures of CRV and LMW excipient in 1:0.5, 1:1 and 1:2 drug:excipient molar ratios were ball milled and analysed by powder X-ray diffraction (PXRD), differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), Fourier transform (FT-IR) infrared spectroscopy and dissolution testing. CAMS were formed by milling of a mixture of CRV with TRY in 1:2 M ratio and SAC in 1:1 M ratio, while amorphization of only CRV was achieved in other mixtures with SAC. In other samples containing TRY and PHE, milling resulted in partial amorphization, while LYS was the least suitable excipient for the amorphization of CRV. Unexpectedly, the highest supersaturation of CRV was achieved from samples containing CRV and LYS in 1:1 and 1:2 M ratios, despite the absence of a significant reduction in CRV crystallinity upon milling of these samples. Increase of hydrophobic surface area caused by milling of samples with TRY and PHE and agglomeration during dissolution testing of samples containing SAC are likely causes of poor dissolution performance of mixtures containing fully or partially amorphous CRV.

The effect of natural modifiers for starch hydrophobization on performance of composite based on ethylene acrylic acid copolymer

AB  - As a renewable resource, starch is considered to be fully biodegradable and nonpolluting to the environment but the hygroscopicity of starch is the main disadvantage for wider applicability in the production of a polymer-based material. Hydrophobically modified starch prepared using natural-based plasticizers/modifiers in a first step ([-]-diisopropyl D-tartrate [DiPT], ricinoleic acid [RA] and epoxidized soybean oil [ESO]), and maleated polypropylene (MAPP) in a second step contributed to better compatibility, and thus reinforcing of composites. Tailored processing conditions, structural/morphological properties, hydrophobicity, and water-resistance of the modified starch were established. In addition, the Charpy impact and tensile strength of composites, based on poly(ethylene-co-acrylic acid) (EAA) and modified starches, were determined. Increased tensile strength and Young modulus of the composite using starch-modified with DiPT-MAPP, that is, 3 and 83%, respectively, indicated the possible applicability of obtained materials.

Photocatalytic degradation of methylene blue under natural sunlight using iron titanate nanoparticles prepared by a modified sol–gel method

AB  - The aim of this work was to synthesize semiconducting oxide nanoparticles using a simple method with low production cost to be applied in natural sunlight for photocatalytic degradation of pollutants in waste water. Iron titanate (Fe2TiO5) nanoparticles with an orthorhombic structure were successfully synthesized using a modified sol–gel method and calcination at 750°C. The as-prepared Fe2TiO5 nanoparticles exhibited a moderate specific surface area. The mesoporous Fe2TiO5 nanoparticles possessed strong absorption in the visible-light region and the band gap was estimated to be around 2.16 eV. The photocatalytic activity was evaluated by the degradation of methylene blue under natural sunlight. The effect of parameters such as the amount of catalyst, initial concentration of the dye and pH of the dye solution on the removal efficiency of methylene blue was investigated. Fe2TiO5 showed high degradation efficiency in a strong alkaline medium that can be the result of the facilitated formation of OH radicals due to an increased concentration of hydroxyl ions.

AB  - The interaction of a Transversely Excited Atmospheric (TEA) CO2 laser with a polymer polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) sample in a vacuum ambiance was studied. The main goal was to demonstrate the feasibility of laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy (LIBS) to detect hydrogen. The generation of plasma over the PMMA surface, using a low laser intensity of ∼ 48 MW/cm2 and fluence of ∼ 16.5 J/cm2, required the application of a metal sub-target. Besides hydrogen, the recorded spectra were dominated by atomic lines of carbon and oxygen and band emission of the C2 and CN molecules. The electron number density and temperature (ionic, vibrational, and rotational) were evaluated to characterize the laser-induced plasma. In addition, PMMA micro-damages (diameter ∼ 45 µm) created by a multipulse laser ablation could find potential applications in sensor technologies.

Structural, morphological, optical, and electronic properties of amorphous non-doped and I and Sn doped Sb2S3 nanoparticles

AB  - Amorphous non-doped, iodine- and tin-doped Sb2S3 nanoparticles were prepared via the hot-injection method. HRTEM of amorphous undoped and doped samples revealed the formation of spherical nanoparticles of 20–50 nm diameter aggregated into clusters in the size of 100–200 nm. EDX analysis indicated the presence of desired elements in all observed samples. The bandgaps of non-doped and doped samples were determined from the reflectance spectra, and variations of the bandgaps, even small ones, are insufficient indications of doping. These uncertainties are further clarified by investigating crystalline undoped and doped samples in addition to the amorphous ones. XRPD results of the amorphous samples confirmed the amorphous structure, while Le Bail refinements of the crystalline samples show well-defined peaks from only the Sb2S3 phase, indicating a successful doping process. XPS measurements revealed that the phase of the undoped sample is free of impurities and that 3 d peaks of iodine and tin in the doped samples are present. The XPS valence bands shifted towards higher (I) or lower (Sn) binding energies compared to the undoped samples for both amorphous and crystalline samples, which is an additional support that incorporation of dopant ions in the Sb2S3 lattice took place.

Temperature dependence of red emission in YPO4:Pr3+ nanopowders

Fitting the temperature dependence of 3P0 → 3H4 emission intensity permits to estimate the phonons and their energies involved in non-radiatively transition between 3P0 and 1D2 levels, which are found different from single crystal. Also, fitting the multiphonon relaxation (MPR) rates against temperature, extracted from the measured 1D2 lifetime gives information that seven phonons can be involved to bridge the gap between 1D2 and 1G4. Furthermore, the possibility to use the YPO4: 0.1 at. % Pr3+ in the nano-thermometry application in temperature range T = 10–300 K was investigated.

Influence of Sn doping on the structural, magnetic, optical and photocatalytic properties of hematite (α-Fe2O3) nanoparticles

AB  - Sn-doped hematite (α-Fe2O3) nanoparticles of fairly uniform and Sn-dependent size and shape were synthesized via a simple combination of hydrothermal co-precipitation and calcination. The effects of Sn doping on the unit cell size, crystallinity, particle size and shape, as well as the magnetic, optical and photocatalytic properties of hematite nanoparticles were analyzed. The incorporation of Sn4+ ions into the crystal structure of hematite was confirmed by determination of the unit cell expansion due to the replacement of octahedrally coordinated Fe3+ ions by significantly larger Sn4+ ions, as well as a substantially reduced hyperfine magnetic field due to magnetic dilution upon the substitution of non-magnetic Sn4+ ions for magnetic high-spin Fe3+ ions. Sn doping caused a decrease in length and width and an increase in thickness of elongated hematite nanoparticles. Fairly uniform Sn-doped hematite nanoellipsoids or nanocuboids were formed, depending on the Sn content. Temperature dependence of magnetization measurements showed the disappearance of the magnetic phase transition (Morin transition) in hematite upon Sn doping. Magnetic coercivity decreased upon Sn doping due to a decrease in shape anisotropy induced by the change in particle shape from nanorods to nanoellipsoids and nanocuboids. The optical and electronic properties of hematite nanoparticles were significantly affected by Sn doping – the absorption edge was shifted to higher wavelengths, while direct and indirect optical band gaps narrowed with the increasing Sn4+-for-Fe3+ substitution. Sn-doped hematite nanoellipsoids containing 4.3 mol% Sn exhibited a substantial visible light photocatalytic activity in the heterogeneous photo-Fenton process, but this activity significantly decreased with higher Sn doping.

AB  - Herein, we show that the substitution of Sr2+ by trivalent lanthanide ions (Lu3+, La3+, Tb3+) in SrTiO3 nanocrystals stabilizes and enhances Ti3+ near-infrared emission (around 800 nm). This emission occurs from the 6-fold coordinated Ti3+ luminescent centers that appear in the vacancy–Ti3+–O form after lanthanide doping into the Sr2+ site. The strong dependence of the Ti3+ emission on temperature provided means for the tailored chemical engineering of luminescent nanonthermometers able to read the temperature in three ways: from the changes in Ti3+ emission intensity, excited-state lifetime, and from the ratio of Tb3+ and Ti3+ emission intensities. We demonstrated the unprecedented temperature sensitivity of the lifetime-based luminescent thermometer (8.83% K−1) with SrTiO3:Tb3+, along with exceptional repeatability in measurements.

Highly sensitive luminescence nanothermometry and thermal imaging facilitated by phase transition

AB  - Currently available temperature measurements or imaging at nano-micro scale are limited to fluorescent molecules and luminescent nanocrystals, whose spectral properties respond to temperature variation. The principle of operation of these conventional temperature probes is typically related to temperature induced multiphonon quenching or temperature dependent energy transfers, therefore, above 12%/K sensitivity and high thermal resolution remain a serious challenge. Here we demonstrate a novel class of highly sensitive thermographic phosphors operating in room temperature range with sub-kelvin thermal resolution, whose temperature readings are reproducible, luminescence is photostable and brightness is not compromised by thermal quenching. Corroborated with phase transition structural characterization and high spatio-temporal temperature imaging, we demonstrated that optically active europium ions are highly and smoothly susceptible to monoclinic to tetragonal phase transition in nanocrystalline (54 ± 14 nm) LiYO2 host, which is evidenced by changed number and the splitting of Stark components as well as by smooth variation of contribution between magnetic and electric dipole transitions. Further, reducing the size of phosphor from bulk to nanocrystalline matrix, shifted the phase transition temperature from 100 °C down to room temperature. These findings provide insights into the mechanism underlaying phase transition based luminescence nanothermometry and motivate future research toward new, highly sensitive, high temporal and spatial resolution nano-thermometers aiming at precise studying heat generation or diffusion in numerous biological and technology applications.

Radonski ravnotežni faktor u izabranim rezidencijalnim i radnim objektima u Srbiji i Crnoj Gori

AB  - U radu su prikazani rezultati merenja radonskog ravnotežnog faktora aktivnom metodom na 5 lokacija u Crnoj Gori i Srbiji. Dobijeni rezultati su u rasponu od 0.36 do 0.7, što je u proseku veće od preporučene vrednosti od 0.4. Na istim lokacijama su izvršena interkomparativna merenja koncentracije radona (uređajima Alpha Guard Pro, RAD7 i RTM1688-2), ravnotežne ekvivalentne koncentracije radona (uređajima RNWL i RPM2200) i radonskog ravnotežnog faktora. Slaganje rezultata je testirano Z-testom koji ukazuje da ne postoji statistički značajno odstupanje između rezultata dobijenih različitim mernim uređajima, odnosno ne postoji nekonzistentnost između različitih metodologija merenja kao ni potrebe za harmonizacijom različitih procedura merenja.
AB  - In this contribution, the results of radon equilibrium factor measurement in selected dwelling and workplaces in Montenegro and Serbia are presented. Radon equilibrium factor was derived from measurements of indoor radon concentration and equilibrium equivalent radon concentration. Measurements were performed one day for each of 5 locations by using different active devices. Obtained radon equilibrium factors range from 0.36 to 0.7 which is in average larger than worldwide average of 0.4 Results are not surprising since measuring locations were kept closed during the measuring time, reducing therefore ventilation rate which as a consequence has an increase of equilibrium factor. Individual measuring results of indoor radon concentrations, equilibrium equivalent radon concentrations and radon equilibrium factors obtained with different detectors systems from 2 research teams was tested using Z – test. Obtained Z – score for each measurement vas below critical value, indication that there is no statistical difference between different measuring devices.

AB  - Glavni izvori aerozagađenja u Srbiji su energetski sektor u koji spadaju termoelektrane, toplane i pojedinačno grejanje domaćinstava, potom transportni sektor i industrijska aktivnost (rafinerije nafte, hemijska industrija, rudarstvo i sl.). Procenjeno je da je broj preranih smrti izazvanih aerozagađenjem u Srbiji, među najvećima u Evropi. Najvažniji parametri za praćenje su koncentracija čestica i njihova raspodela u veličini. Uzorkovanje suspendovanih čestica atmosfere (particulate matter - PM) frakcionisanih po veličini sprovedeno je u periodu od marta 2012. godine do decembra 2013. godine u suburbanom delu Beograda na pozadinskoj mernoj stanici Zeleno brdo, kao receptorskom mestu. Svaki šesti dan uziman je po jedan usrednjeni 48-časovni uzorak aerosolnih čestica razdvojenih na jedanaest intervala aerodinamičkih prečnika čestica (particle diameter - Dp) pomoću kaskadnog impaktora niskog pritiska prof. dr. Bernera - LPI 25/0,0085/2 u opsegu veličine čestica (0,0085 μm < Dp< 16 μm). Tehnika mikrotalasne digestije korišćena je za razaranje sakupljenog depozita aerosolnih čestica iz šest krupnijih frakcija (0,27 μm < Dp< 16 μm). Koncentracije 25 ispitivanih elemenata su određene primenom indukovano spregnute plazme sa masenom spektrometrijom. Najzastupljeniji elementi u ispitivanom aerosolu su bili Ca, Fe, Al, K i Mg. Najveći procentualni udeo As, Cd, K, Pb i Sb bio je prisutan u frakcijama čestica finog moda, dok su u grubom modu dominirali Al, Ba, Ca, Cr, Fe, Mg, Mn i Ti. Naknadno je vršena i gama spektrometrijska analiza uzoraka. Jedan deo ispitivanja je obuhvatao merenje svake od 11 frakcija posebno, a drugi deo analizu svih 11 frakcija odjednom. Takođe, merene su i aktivnosti više različitih uzoraka iste frakcije. U spektru su nađeni u tragovima prirodni radionuklidi, dok radionuklidi veštačkog porekla nisu detektovani. U radu su diskutovane istražene korelacije dobijenih rezultata koncentracije aktivnosti radionuklida sa dominantnim elementarnim sastavom i dijametrom čestica, kao i moguće poreklo aerozagađenja.
AB  - The main sources of air pollution in Serbia are the energy sector, which includes thermal power plants, heating plants and individual heating of households, then the transport sector and industrial activity (oil refineries, chemical industry, mining, etc.). It is estimated that the number of premature deaths caused by air pollution in Serbia is among the highest in Europe. The most important parameters for monitoring are the concentration of particles and their size distribution. Sampling of suspended atmospheric particles (particulate matter - PM) fractionated by size was conducted in the period from March 2012 to December 2013 in the suburban part of Belgrade at the background measuring station Zeleno brdo, as a receptor site. Every sixth day, one averaged 48-hour sample of aerosol particles was taken, separated into eleven intervals of aerodynamic particle diameters (Dp) using a low-pressure cascade impactor prof. dr. Berner–LPI \25 /0.0085 /2. The microwave digestion technique was used to destroy the collected aerosol particle deposit from the six tested size ranges: 0.27 ≤ Dp ≤ 0.53 μm, 0.53 ≤ Dp ≤ 1.06 μm, 1.06 ≤ Dp ≤ 2.09 μm, 2.09 ≤ Dp ≤ 4.11 μm, 4.11 ≤ Dp ≤ 8.11 μm and 8.11≤ Dp ≤ 16 μm. Concentrations of 25 test elements were determined using induced conjugated plasma by mass spectrometry. The most common elements in the tested aerosol were Ca, Fe, Al, K and Mg. The highest percentage of As, Cd, K, Pb and Sb was present in the fractions of fine mode particles, while in the coarse mode Al, Ba, Ca, Cr, Fe, Mg, Mn and Ti dominated. Subsequently, gamma spectrometric analysis of the samples was performed. One part of the study included the measurement of each of the 11 fractions separately, and the other part the analysis of all 11 fractions at once. Also, the activities of several different samples of the same fraction were measured. Traces of natural radionuclides were found in the spectrum, while radionuclides of artificial origin were not detected. The paper discusses the investigated correlations of the obtained results of the activity concentrations of radionuclides with the dominant elemental composition and particle diameter, as well as the possible origin of air pollution.

AB  - Aflatoksini su značajan problem u oblasti bezbednosti hrane i rizika po zdravlje ljudi. Gama zračenje uništava opasne zagađivače u hrani kao što su bakterije, virusi, gljivice, pesticidi i toksini. U ovoj studiji je korišćeno gama zračenje da bi se smanjila količina aflatoksina u mleku. Rezultati su pokazali smanjenje aflatoksina u mleku za 9 % - 35,26 % u poređenju sa kontrolnim uzorkom. Smanjenje koncentracija aflatoksina u mleku nije proporcionalno primenjenoj dozi grama zračenja usled zgrušavanja mleka.
AB  - Aflatoxins are a significant problem in the field of food safety and risk to human health. Gamma irradiation destroys dangerous contaminants in foods such as bacteria, viruses, fungi, pesticides, and toxins. In this study, we used gamma radiation to reduce the amount of aflatoxins in milk. The results showed a 9 % - 35.26 % reduction of aflatoxin in milk compared to the control sample. Reductions in aflatoxin concentrations in milk are not proportional to the applied dose of grams of radiation due to milk coagulation.

AB  - U radu su prikazani rezultati merenja radioaktivnosti u izvorskim vodama u okolini Smederevske Palanke. Određivanje sadržaja radionuklida urađeno je gamaspektrometrijskom metodom sa HPGe detektorom, dok je za merenje ukupne alfa i ukupne beta aktivnosti u uzorcima korišćen gasni proporcionalni alfa beta brojač THERMO-EBERLINE FHT 770T. Uzorci su sakupljani tokom proleća 2021. godine. Dobijeni rezultati upoređeni su sa dozvoljenim vrednostima sadržaja radionuklida u vodi za piće propisanim Zakonskom regulativom.
AB  - The results of gamma spectrometric analysis and determination of gross alpha and gross beta activity in spring waters in the vicinity of Smederevska Palanka are presented in this paper. Determination of radionuclide content was performed with HPGe gamma spectrometry, while determination of gross alpha and gross beta activity was performed using gas proportional alpha/beta counter THERMO-EBERLINE FHT 770T. Samples were collected in spring of 2021. The obtained results were compared with the permitted values of radionuclide content in drinking water prescribed by the Legislation.

AB  - Rezultati merenja radioaktivnosti zemljišta, mulja i vode u procesu iskopavanja bunara do maksimalne dubine od 13,5 m u selu Poganovu, u opštini Dimitrovgrad, prikazani su u ovom radu. Uzorci mulja i zemljišta, analizirani su spektrometrijom gama emitera i određivanjem sadržaja 90Sr. U slučaju uzorka vode, određena je ukupna alfa i ukupna beta aktivnost, i koncentracija radionuklida gama emitera. Pored navedenih uzoraka, sa iste lokacije su mereni i uzorci mahovina i lišajeva. Osim u uzorku mahovine i zemljišta sa dubine 0-10 cm u kojima je detektovano prisustvo 137Cs u veoma niskim koncentracijama za ovu vrstu uzoraka, ni u jednom uzorku nije detektovano prisustvo proizvedenih radionuklida, 137Cs i 90Sr. U slučaju prirodnih radionuklida, dobijene vrednosti koncentracija, karakteristične su za ovakve vrste uzoraka i ne razlikuju se u odnosu na druge lokacije na našim prostorima. Svi rezultati merenja ukazuju na to da se ova lokacija može koristiti kao nulta tačka monitoringa radioaktivnosti na našim prostorima.
AB  - The results of radioactivity measurements in the soil, sludge and water samples in the process of finding water and digging wells to a maximum depth of 13.5 m, in the village of Poganovo, in the municipality of Dimitrovgrad, are presented in this paper. Sludge and soil samples were analyzed by gamma-ray spectrometry and 90Sr measurements. In the case of water samples, gross alpha and gross beta activity, as well as content of radionuclides gamma emitter were determined. In addition, samples of mosses and lichens from the same location were also measured. Presence of the artificial radionuclides 90Sr and 137Cs were not detected in measured samples, with an exception of the sample of moss and soil from a depth of 0-10 cm, where 137Cs was detected in very low concentrations for this type of samples. In the case of natural radionuclides, the obtained values of concentrations are characteristic of these types of samples and do not differ from other locations in our area. All measurement results indicate that this location can be used as a zero point for monitoring radioactivity in our area.

AB  - Due to the need for harmonization of passive dosimetry and the requirements of the international standards in the area of environmental monitoring in radiation protection, multiple types of various passive dosimetry systems based on different ionizing radiation detection mechanisms were subjected to extensive performance testing. In the scope of the EMPIR project 16ENV04 Preparedness, the performance of 12 passive dosimetry systems was examined in radiation fields of different photon energies, angles of incidence and ambient dose equivalent rates in order to estimate their performance in the almost omni-directionally and energetically broad radiation field of the natural environment. The use of different detectors, holders, calibrations, measurement procedures and uncertainties, leads to differences in the measured data. Prior investigations and harmonization of passive dosimetry systems are necessary to achieve reliable and comparable dose measurements in Europe.

AB  - Istraživanja obuhvaćena ovom studijom predstavljaju prikaz efekata svojstava tla različitih poljoprivrednih koncepata na migraciju antropogenih radionuklida, 90Sr i 137Cs. Primenom linearne korelacione analize utvrđeni su dominantni fizičko−hemijski parametri koji utiču na migraciju 90Sr i 137Cs u poljoprivrednom zemljištu.
AB  - The research included by this study presents the effects of soil properties of different agricultural concepts to the migration of anthropogenic radionuclides, 90Sr and 137Cs. For the purposes of this paper, sampling of agricultural soil at two depths on the territory of the city of Belgrade during 2014 was performed. The physico−chemical properties of investigated soil, as well as the specific activities of the mentioned radionuclides were determined. The radiochemical analytical method was used to determine the 90Sr content, while the specific activity of 137Cs was determined using the gamma spectrometric method. Examination of the effects of soil properties on the migration of anthropogenic radionuclides 90Sr and 137Cs, based on the analyzed soil samples, was performed by statistical methods of analysis. By applying linear correlation analysis, the dominant physico−chemical parameters that affect the migration of 90Sr and 137Cs in agricultural soil were determined.

AB  - Huge quantities of fly ash and bottom ash are generated from thermal power plants and it presents great concern for country, mainly due to the environmental effects. In this study, fly ashes and bottom ash were characterized from technical and radiological aspects. Health effect due to the activity of radionuclides 226Ra, 232Th and 40K was estimated via radium equivalent activity (Raeq), external hazards index (Hex), the external absorbed dose rate (D) and annual effective dose rate (EDR). The specific surface area (40.25 m2 g−1), particle density (1.88 g cm−3) and LOI (23.49%) were typical for bottom ash. Siliceous fly ash contained 32% reactive silica. The annual effective dose rate for all ashes is ≤ 0.2 mSv y−1. Both, fly ash and bottom ash present potential secondary raw materials to be used for building purposes as result of their technological and radiological assessment.

AB  - In this study, nickel (Ni) thin films were deposited at two different angles (65o and 85o) using Glancing Angle Deposition technique, to the thicknesses of 60 – 290 nm. Structural analysis of the deposited films was performed by scanning electron microscopy and X-ray diffraction, while spectroscopic ellipsometry was used for the investigation of optical properties. Electrical resitivity of the samples was determined by four-point probe method. Structural analysis showed that the Ni films grow in a shape of zigzag nanocolumns, where the deposition angle strongly affects their porosity. As the thickness of the films increase they absorb light strongly and become less dense. Besides, samples deposited at the angle of 85o exhibit higher values of electrical resistivity as compared to the samples deposited at the angle of 65o, which can be correlated with high porosity and the growth mechanism of the deposited nanostructures.

Both frameworks collapse into amorphous intermediate products after heating between 600 and 650oC. AB  - Coordination effects have been considered through the most common interactions in the crystal structures of fluoro compounds (C-H/F and F/F interactions). The supramolecular profile of these effects is based on quantum-chemical calculations for the assessment of the interaction strength and electrostatic potential maps, which provide a qualitative insight into the examined effect. Coordination of aliphatic fluorides leads to an increase of the negative potential of the F atoms, and, hence, an increase in the hydrogen-bonding acceptor ability (strengthening of C-H/F interactions) and a weakening of the F/F interactions, due to an increase in repulsive interactions between the F atoms. There is no significant change in the potential of the F atoms due to coordination of C6-aromatic fluorides, as in the case of aliphatic ones. This results in slight changes in the strengths of the C-H/F and F/F interactions (coupled with parallel interaction at large offsets, PILO), in a noticeable enhancement of stacking interactions, as well as in a significant enhancement of interactions involving the π-system (F/πand C-H/πinteractions). It has also been shown that a decrease in the charge of the metal ions leads to a decrease in the negative potential of the F atom and also that the nature of the metal ion has a significant influence on the value of the potential of the F atoms.

AB  - The very forward region is one of the most challenging regions to instrument at a future e+e- collider. At CEPC, machine-detector interface includes, among others, a calorimeter dedicated for precision measurement of the integrated luminosity at a permille level or better. Here we review a feasibility of such precision, from the point of view of luminometer mechanical precision and positioning, beam-related requirements and physics background. A method of the effective center-of-mass determination from e+e-→μ+μ-, initially proposed for FCC, is also discussed for the CEPC beams.

AB  - In this paper we address the potential of a 3 TeV center-of-mass energy Compact Linear Collider (CLIC) to measure the Standard Model (SM) Higgs boson decay to two photons. Since photons are massless, they are not coupled to the Higgs boson at tree level, but they are created in a loop exchange of heavy particles either from the Standard Model or beyond. Any deviation of the effective H → γγ branching ratio and consequently of the Higgs to photon coupling may indicate New Physics. The Higgs decay to two photons is thus an interesting probe of the Higgs sector, both at the running and future experiments. A similar study has been performed at 1.4 TeV CLIC, where the statistical uncertainty is determined to be 15% for an integrated luminosity of 1.5 ab−1 with unpolarized beams. This study is performed using a full simulation of the detector for CLIC and by considering all relevant physics and beam-induced processes in a full reconstruction chain. The measurement is simulated on 5000 pseudo-experiments and the relative statistical uncertainty is extracted from the pull distribution. It is shown that the Higgs production cross-section in W+W− fusion times the branching ratio BR(H → γγ) can be measured with a relative statistical accuracy of 8.2%, assuming an integrated luminosity of 5 ab−1 with unpolarized beams.

abstract = "In this paper we address the potential of a 3 TeV center-of-mass energy Compact Linear Collider (CLIC) to measure the Standard Model (SM) Higgs boson decay to two photons. Since photons are massless, they are not coupled to the Higgs boson at tree level, but they are created in a loop exchange of heavy particles either from the Standard Model or beyond. Any deviation of the effective H → γγ branching ratio and consequently of the Higgs to photon coupling may indicate New Physics. The Higgs decay to two photons is thus an interesting probe of the Higgs sector, both at the running and future experiments. A similar study has been performed at 1.4 TeV CLIC, where the statistical uncertainty is determined to be 15% for an integrated luminosity of 1.5 ab−1 with unpolarized beams. This study is performed using a full simulation of the detector for CLIC and by considering all relevant physics and beam-induced processes in a full reconstruction chain. The measurement is simulated on 5000 pseudo-experiments and the relative statistical uncertainty is extracted from the pull distribution. It is shown that the Higgs production cross-section in W+W− fusion times the branching ratio BR(H → γγ) can be measured with a relative statistical accuracy of 8.2%, assuming an integrated luminosity of 5 ab−1 with unpolarized beams.",
