abstract = "The main goal of the Open Balkans Initiative is economic integration. It is not an initiative that willreplace EU accession but a process that should speed up integration. The research question is whether deeper economic integration is possible without a political and security component. The complexity of this issue is indicated by the fact that the countries-participants in the initiative have different security policies. Serbia has declared military neutrality, while North Macedonia and Albania are NATO members. Inter-state economic integration is almost impossible without coordination at the political and security levels. The sanctions thatRussia is facing due to theUkrainian conflict are not correlated with theOpen Balkans butrepresentindicators of economic trends. Through these indicators, an answer to the question of whether and to what extent the Open Balkans can reach full economic integration if the security policies of the countries that are part of the initiative are not unified, will be reached. The goal is to show how the security and political positioning of states determine inter-state economic flows and, therefore, explain that it is very difficult to achieve full capacities of economic integration without a security and political component., Основни циљ Отвореног Балкана је економска интеграција земаља учесница, те као таква ова иницијатива не служи као замена приступању у ЕУ већ као елемент у том процесу. Истраживачко питање гласи: да ли је могућа дубља економска интеграција без потпуне политичке и безбедносне синхронизације земаља учесница Отвореног Балкана? Комплексност овог питања препознајемо у чињеници да је реч о државама учесницaма које воде различиту безбедносну политику. Србија је декларисала војну неутралност, док су Северна Македонија и Албанија чланице НАТО. У раду се анализирају домети економске интеграције, без усклађености држава учесница на политичком и безбедносном нивоу. Као пример ћемо искористити актуелне економске санкције са којима се суочава Руска Федерација услед, превасходно, безбедносних размимоилажења са политиком Запада. Покушаћемо да одговоримо на питање – да ли и у којој мери Отворени Балкан може да оствари пуне капацитете економске интеграције, истовремено изостављајући безбедносну политику држава учесница која није јединствена? У раду ће се приказати колико безбедносна и политичка позиционираност држава детерминише међудржавне економске односе у савременим међународним односима.",
