AB - Over the last few decades, heavy metal pollution has become an issue of great interest, primarily because of the potential human health risks. Contamination of seawater with heavy metals, and thus of marine species, is a direct consequence of urban and industrial pollution. Therefore, two fish samples Sardina pilchardus (S. pilchardus) collected from the Boka Kotorska Bay and the coastal part of the open sea on the Montenegrin coast were compared in terms of heavy metals: lead, mercury, copper and zinc concentration. Results show that metal concentrations in S. pilchardus samples in both sampling areas were lower than the maximum permitted concentrations defined by national and European legislation in fisheries and fish muscle tissue, meaning S. pilchardus obtained from the Boka Kotorska Bay and the coastal part of the open Adriatic Sea safe for human nutrition.

AB - Our work deals with the problem of producing a complex metal-ceramic composite using the processes of internal oxidation (IO) and severe plastic deformation. For this purpose, Cu-Al alloy with 0.4wt.% of Al was used. IO of sample serves in the first step of the processing as a means for attaining a fine dispersion of nanosized oxide particles in the metal matrix. Production technology continues with repeated application of severe plastic deformation (SPD) of the resulting metal-matrix composite to produce the bulk nanoscaled structural material. SPD was carried out with equal channel angular pressing (ECAP), which allowed that the material could be subjected to an intense plastic strain through simple shear. Microstructural characteristics of one phase and multiphase material was studied on internally oxidized Cu with 0.4wt.% of Al sample composed of one phase copper-aluminum solid solution in the core and fine dispersed oxide particles in the same matrix in the mantle region. In this manner AFM, X-ray diffraction and Raman spectroscopy were used. Local structures in plastically deformed samples reflect presence of Cu, CuO, Cu2O, Cu4O3 or Al2O3 structural characteristics, depending on type of sample.

AB - In this study, we point to loss of accuracy in representing a field of air pollution concentration due to reduction of number of monitoring points or changes in their location. Using a Gaussian-type diffusion model, a high resolution concentration field was generated from 17 points representing the actual distribution of possible pollution sources. The starting grid consisted of 90 601 points. Then we reduced number of points by two orders of magnitude, forming the grid of 961 points. After that, the second reduction to 36 points was performed, still forming a regular grid. Finally, we had 16 points whose positions are in a qualitative agreement with the actual distribution of sampling stations in the area.
