AB  - Određivanje prisustva neutrona tokom niskofonskih gama spektrometrijskih merenja je
od posebne važnosti. Zbog toga je u ovom radu analiziran način određivanja
energetskog spektra neutrona prisutnog u merenjima sa HPGe detektorima. Ovaj metod
se zasniva na korišćenju metoda dekonvolucije. Za to je neophodno poznavati gama
aktivnost indukovanu neutronskim reakcijama sa različitim izotopima germanijuma kao
i efikasne preseke za date neutronske reakcije. Ovaj pristup je testiran merenjima sa
fisionim izvorom neutrona 252Cf koji je bio postavljen u blizini HPGe detektora.
Dobijeni rezultati pokazuju da ovaj metod moze pružiti pouzdane podatke o obliku
energetskog spektra neutrona tokom gama spektrometrijskih merenja.
AB  - Determination of neutron spectra in the Ge-detector during low-level gamma
spectroscopy measurements is of great importance. Thus, in this paper we analyzed the
method for the determination of neutron energy spectra present during measurements
with HPGe detectors. This method is based on using the deconvolution procedure. It
requires the knowledge of neutron induced gamma activities of Ge isotopes and the
cross section data for the neutron reactions of interest. This approach was tested with
measurements that used the fission neutron source 252Cf placed in proximity of the
HPGe detector. Results show that this method can provide reliable data about the shape
of neutron energy spectrum during gamma spectroscopy measurements.

AB  - The estimation of the radioactivity levels of materials utilized in construction sectors is crucial in the assessment of possible radiological hazards to human health. In the paper, the results of gamma spectroscopy study of 211 zircon, 425 sand, 781 lime, 348 perlite, 2692 cement, 232 calplex, 968 gypsum, 2741 granite and 21 coal fly ash samples gathered from different countries and imported in Serbia in period 2006-2016 were presented. In order to assess the radiological impact from the investigated samples, the activity concentration index I-RP112 for all samples was ascertained. This research yields insight into the radioactive content in a variety of building materials of different origin. The obtained results were discussed on the basis of relevant national and international legislation and guidance and compared with the corresponding results in the literature.

AB  - Mioni predstavljaju glavnu komponentu kosmičkog zračenja na nivou mora, zbog čega
su značajan izvor fonske aktivnosti u gama spektrometrijskim merenjima. Fonsku
aktivnost mioni mogu produkovati interakcijama sa detektorom i okolnim materijalima.
Tom prilikom nastali neutroni daju takođe značajan doprinos vrednosti fonske gama
aktivnosti. U ovom radu su predstavljeni rezultati merenja korišćenjem HPGe detektora
sa gvozdenom i olovnom pasivnom zaštitom u dva okruženja, kada je iznad detektora
bila prisutna različita debljina pokrovnog betonskog sloja. Monitoring prisustva miona
je vršen korišćenjem plastičnog scintilacionog detektora. Određene su vrednosti
inteziteta gama pikova koji se javljaju usled neutronskih reakcija i upoređeni su sa
promenom prisustva miona u okruženju detektora. Dobijeni rezultati mogu poslužiti za
unapređenje projektovanja zaštita prilikom niskofonskih gama spektrometrijskih
merenja.
AB  - Muons are one of the main components of cosmic radiation on the sea level and there
are significant source background activities during gamma spectroscopic measurements. Background activity can be produced by muon interactions with detector and
surrounding materials. On this way created neutrons also have high influence on
detection of background events. In this work there are presented the results of
measurements by use of HPGe detectors with iron and lead shields. The detectors were
located in two different environments where the different thicknesses of covering
concrete layer were present. The monitoring of muons presence was done by
measurements with plastic scintillation detector. The levels of neutron induced gamma
activates were determinated and compared with changing of muon flux in detectors
environment. The results can be used for improving of new detector shield in gamma
spectrometry measurements.

AB  - Zbog svoje visoke efikasnosti, NaI detektor oblika jame je odličan izbor za detekciju
niskih aktivnosti, pogotovo kod uzoraka uzetih iz prirode. No velik prostorni ugao kojeg
aktivna zapremina detektora oblika jame zauzima, neminovno dovodi do efekta
koincidentnog sumiranja. Na osnovu većeg broja gama spektara rastvora radijuma je
ispitan uticaj koincidentnog sumiranja na efikasnost detekcije u cilju razvijanja brzog i
pouzdanog metoda za merenje radijuma u pijaćim vodama. Razvijen je i nov “grafički”
metod za određivanje praga detekcije koji je ispitan na primeru voluminoznih uzoraka
male aktivnosti.
AB  - Due to its high efficiency, a well-type NaI detector is an excellent choice for low-level
activity detection, especially for samples taken from nature. But, the large space angle
that active volume of the detector includes, indispicably leads to coincident summing.
Based on large number of gamma spectra of radium solutions, the effect of coincident
summing was examined for purposes of developing a fast and reliable method for
drinking water radium measurements. Also, a new ”graphical”method for determining
MDA, based on measurements of small activity voluminous samples was developed.

AB  - Prilikom puštanja u rad terapijskog linearnog akceleratora dozimetrijska mjerenja se
rade samo u zračnom polju i ti podaci se unose u TPS (sistem za planiranje), dok
dozimetrijski podaci izvan zračnog polja nisu dobro dokumentovani. Neminovno je da
dijelovi tijela izvan zračnog polja budu izloženi određenoj dozi zračenja rasijanog u
tijelu pacijenta, akceleratorskoj glavi, kao i u samoj prostoriji. Razvojem tehnika
isporuke doze pomoću kojih imamo mnogo bolju konformalnost, ali isto tako imamo
više monitorskih jedinica čime se produžava vrijeme tretmana, a samim time izloženost
tijela nižim dozama zračenja. Takođe, koristimo više polja pod različitim uglovima
(IMRT) ili puni luk (VMAT). Sve ovo utiče da veća zapremina normalnog tkiva bude
izložena nižim dozama zračenja. Cilj ovog rada je da se procijeni vrijednost doze izvan
zračnog polja za tretmanske planove (3DCRT, IMRT i VMAT) napravljenih u Eclipse
13.6 TPS (Varian Medical Systems) koja je isporučena pomoću Clinac DHX (Varian
Medical Systems) linearnog akceleratora. Mjerenje je rađeno u Thorax Phantom-u
(CIRS) pomoću jonizacione komore na udaljenosti od ivice polja u rasponu od
1,75–15,75 cm.

AB  - Активност природних радионуклида је мерена у 217 узорака маховина Hypnum
cupressiforme које су сакупљене крајем лета 2015. године на комплетној територији Републике Србије са циљем да се установи просторна дистрибуција
радионуклида. Мерења су вршена NaI детектором облика јаме. Посебна пажња
је посвећена 7Be који се већ деценијама користи као природни обележивач у
изучавању транспортних процеса у атмосфери. Добијено је да је дистрибуција
атмосферске депозиције 7Be неуниформна и да се најмања и највећа измерена
вредност разликују девет пута. Просторна дистрибуција 7Be не показује корелацију са рељефом терена за разлику од 137Cs кога има више у планинским и шумовитим пределима. Присутност радионуклида из урановог и торијумовог
низа у доброј мери зависи од структуре и састава тла на локацијама са којих су
узимани узорци.
AB  - The activities of natural radionuclide were measured in 217 moss samples that were
collected at the entire territory of Serbia. Measurements were taken by well-type NaI
detector in order to establish the spatial distribution of radionuclides. Special attention
was paid to 7Be. It is obtained that the distribution of atmospheric deposition of 7Be is
non-uniform; the minimum and maximum measured value differs nine times. No
coincidence of the spatial distribution of 7Be with the relief was observed. It was
noticed that higher values of 137Cs were detected in mountain and wooded areas. The
presence of radionuclides from the Uranium and Thorium chains in the large extent
depends on the structure of the soil at the sampling site.

deposition, and they can be used for monitoring of airborne radionuclide depositions.
Ninetyfive samples of Hypnum Cupressiforme were collected in Northern Greece during
the end of summer 2016. After the preparation, mosses were measured in a
low-background HPGe detector with relative efficiency 32%. The activity
concentrations of 7
Be ranged from 69 to 1280 Bq kg-1, and the concentrations of 137Cs
ranged from 0 to 425 Bq kg-1. The concentrations of 210Pb were between 147 and 1920
Bq kg-1 and for 40K were between 120 and 750 Bq kg-1. Differences have been observed
in the activity concentrations between the mosses collected from ground surface, rocks,
branches and near roots. Finally, no correlation between the concentrations of 7
Be and
210Pb has been found.

koristiti za monitoring depozicije radionuklida iz vazduha. Devedesetpet uzoraka

Neutron dose equivalent measured at the maze door with various openings for the jaws and MLC

AB  - Purpose: This study was undertaken to explore the effects of the jaws and the MLC openings on the neutron dose equivalent (DE) at the maze door and neutron flux at the patient plane. Methods: The neutron dose equivalent was measured at the maze entrance door of a 15 MV therapy linear accelerator room. All measurements were performed using various field sizes up to 40 cm x 40 cm. Activation detectors constructed from natural Indium (In) were exposed at Cd envelope to neutrons in order to estimate relative changes of epithermal neutron fluences in the patient plane. Results: Our study showed that the dose equivalent at the maze door is at the highest when the jaw are closed and that maximal jaws opening reduces the DE by more than 20%. The neutron dose equivalent at the maze door measured for radiation fields defined by jaws do not differ significantly from the DE measured when MLC determines the same size radiation field. The epithermal capture reaction rate measured using different jaw openings differs by approximately 10%. When an MLC leaf is inserted into a fixed geometry for one opening of the jaws, an increase of the epithermal neutron capture reaction rate in Indium activation detectors was observed. Conclusions: There is no significant difference in the neutron DE when MLC defines radiation field instead of jaws. This leads to the conclusion that the overall number of neutrons remains similar and it does not depend on how primary photon beam was stopped-by the jaws or the MLC. An increase of the fast neutron capture reaction rate when MLC leaves are inserted probably originates from the neutron scattering. (C) 2012 American Association of Physicists in Medicine. AB  - The results of a detailed study of the low-level performance of a NaI(Tl) shield added to an iron shielded HPGe spectrometer are presented. Both the slow and the fast anticoincidence gating modes were tested, the slow mode being found better suited for general low-level spectroscopy applications. In long runs the stability of the system in this mode is satisfactory. The anticoincidence action of the NaI(Tl) shield lowers the integral background of the iron shielded HPGe detector in the energy range from 30 keV to 2 MeV by a factor of 6.5, and suppresses the continuum above 150 keV by a factor larger than 10. AB  - The gamma spectrum of Cs-137 was measured by means of a low-level shielded and Compton-suppressed HpGe spectrometer. The gamma line with the energy 283.4 keV and absolute intensity of 5.3(14)X10(-6) was found. It was concluded that the 283.4 keV intermediate level in Ba-137 [seen earlier in (n,ngamma) measurements] is populated in the beta decay of Cs-137 with the comparative half-life of log ft=15.3(3).
