Visual detection of quercetin using gold nanoparticles

AB  - We report on the use of gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) as a colorimetric probe for quercetin (Q). The method is based on the aggregation of the AuNPs that is caused by various quercetin concentrations in the range of 4 mg/L - 15 mg/L and leads to a visually detectable color change. Concentration-dependent aggregation is confirmed by recording of UV-visible absorption spectra. The method provides a useful tool for the rapid visual quercetin determination.

AB  - Nastanak ambalaže je uslovljen potrebom čoveka da olakša dostavu i prodaju proizvoda, zatim da unapredi tehnologije rukovanja, transporta i skladištenja kao i načine izlaganja proizvoda u trgovini itd. Ambalaža se najčešće pravi od: papira, metala, drveta, stakla i plastike. Utvrđivanje prisustva i merenje sadržaja četiri teška metala, kadmijuma, hroma, olova i žive u ambalaži i komponentama ambalaže i kontrola njihovog odlaganja u životnu sredinu ima veliki ekološki značaj, utiče na kvalitet pakovanja i pakovane robe, a samim tim i na zdavlje potrošača. S obzirom da Republika Srbija veći deo trgovinske razmene ostvaruje sa zemljama EU, neophodno je ispunjenje zahteva i usaglašavanje sa propisima EU u oblast ambalaže i ambalažnog otpada. Zahtevi koji se odnose na izradu i sastav ambalaže su definisani EU Direktivom 94/62/EC. Prema Direktivi, posle 30. juna 2001. godine, ukupan sadržaj navedena četiri teška metala u ambalaži ne sme da bude veći od 100 ppm.
AB  - Packaging was invented thanks to the man's need to make delivery and sale of products easier and to improve handling, transport and storage of products as well as the way they are displayed in shops. Packaging is most often made of paper, metal, wood, glass and plastic. Determining the presence and measuring the content of four heavy metals, cadmium, chromium, lead and mercury in the packaging and components of packaging and control of their disposal in the environment has great environmental effects. It influences the quality of packaging and packaged goods, and healti of the consumers. Considering the Republic of Serbia does most of its trade exchange with EU countries, it is necessary to fulfill the required conditions and to harmonize with EU regulations in the area of packaging and packaged waste. Requirements which are related to production and composition of packaging are defined by the EU Directive 94/62/EC. According to that Directive, after June 30 2001, the total content of the above mentioned heavy metals in the packaging must not exceed 100 ppm.

AB  - Preliminary studies have shown that external oscillatory magnetic fields of a few mT imposed to the atmospheric pressure DC argon arc plasma with aerosol supply, can produce significant favourable changes of its spatial and spectral characteristic. These changes are promising for improvement the analytical performance of such treated plasma. In this work, the applied magnetic fields strengths were in the range of 29- 23 mT and frequencies of 300-900 Hz. Spatial emission intensities of several element lines have been investigated in such magnetic field-plasma configuration with various plasma operating conditions and arc device construction modifications. Applied magnetic field induces lines emission intensity enhancements of the most elements observed. Enhancements (up to 20 times) depend on arc current, magnetic field strength and frequency applied, composition of sprayed solution, spatial plasma zone observed and construction details
