AB  - In presented paper influence of the modification on the point of zero charge of the waste slag generated by lignite combustion in heating plants and its properties for xanthates removal from aqueous solutions were investigated. The obtained results showed that the modification did have negligible effect on the point of zero charge and after modification the pHpzc changed from 6.92 to 6.90. The preliminary test of the xanthates removal from aqueous solutions showed that modification significantly increased removal efficiency, from 18.50 to 98.60 %.
