Analysis and Prediction of Vibrations of Ball Bearings Contaminated By Open Pit Coal Mine Debris Particles

AB  - Analysis of the relevant literature has shown that only few researches are dealing with the bearings dynamic behaviour in real environmental conditions where high concentration of solid contaminant particles is evident. There is still no established mathematical correlation between bearings vibration characteristics, working time and concentration level of contaminant particles in their grease. Solving this problem was the main goal of research described in this paper. First step was thorough analysis of the chemical composition and structure of contamination particles directly causing the sample bearings failure on open pit coal mines. After that, specific experimental methodology was developed and implemented. Finally, by processing of the experimental results, new mathematical correlation between listed bearings characteristics was determined.

Integrating Risk Assessment in the NAD into the ERM Model

AB  - In the nineties years of the previous century, the European Union achieved, through introducing the New and Global Approach to technical harmonization and standardization, a significant improvement in the approach to conformity assessment of products, by integrating the requirements for technical products safety into the process of its designing. This was achieved by preventive analyzing and quantifying of risk levels in the design process with the objective of determining the scope of the needed safety systems. On the other hand, we have witnessed a rapid development and implementation of holistic approaches to risks management in enterprises, unified in the modem business practice by the name of Enterprise Risk Management (ERM). Going along that line, the paper presents basis of the E,U New and Global Approach and give an approach to integrating New Approach Directives risk assessment into the holistic approach of risks management in organization, such as ERM.

AB  - High-frequency cyclic load of fresh air supply to ventilator blades in thermo energetic facilities can cause the occurrence of fretting in the pressed overlap of ventilator shaft and socket. These loads can be generated by the resonant oscillations of ventilator blades and thermal residual stress due to welding. To prevent running in resonant conditions, the manufacturer of the ventilator defined a procedure of adjusting blades natural frequency in the process of production, as well as period control during exploitation period The numerical simulations and the accelerations measured and presented in this paper, enabling analysis of mass changes and rotation rate effects on resonant oscillations occurrence in fresh air ventilator.
