abstract = "Recycling of polymer materials is a promising way of plastic waste reduction and production of compounds that reduce oil-based materials dependence. This paper represents synthesis of waste PET-based plasticizer obtained by esterification of PET depolymerization products (glycolisate) and levulinic (bio-renewable chemical). Depolymerization of the waste PET was performed using diethylene glycol. Morphological and structural analyses confirmed successful depolymerization of waste-PET, as well as esterification of the obtained product with levulinic acid. Good chemical resistance and mechanical properties, e.g. elongation at break of 65% and tensile strength of 50 MPa, of recycled PVC modified with synthesized waste-PET based plasticizer proved that depolymerization and modification of waste-PET represent one efficient solution for plastic waste recycling.",
