AB  - У овом раду је израчунато магнетно поље родитељског тела астероида 4 Веста применом Савић-Кашанин (СК) теорије. У уводу су дати неки општи подаци о астероиду 4 Веста. Затим је направљен кратак осврт на СК теорију, уз објашњење оног дела теорије, чије је разумевање неопходно, да би читалац могао да прати рачун. На крају је укратко коментарисана хемијска распрострањеност 4 најзаступљенија елемента у случају астероида 4 Веста и 1 Церес. Овакве студије могу допринети бољем разумевању настанка астероида и формирања Сунчевог система.
AB  - In this paper, the magnetic field of the parent body of asteroid 4 Vesta was calculated based on the Savić-Kašanin (SK) theory. In the introduction, some general information about asteroid 4 Vesta is given. Then a brief overview of SK theory was made, with an explanation of that part of the theory, the understanding of which is necessary, so that the reader could follow the calculation. Finally, the chemical distribution of the 4 most abundant elements in the case of asteroids 4 Vesta and 1 Ceres is briefly commented. Such studies could contribute to a better understanding of the origin of asteroids and the formation of the Solar System.

AB  - Abstract: In this study, the behavior of the change in the total geomagnetic field intensity, measured above the Earth’s surface, with altitude was investigated. A random sampling method was applied for the chosen date: March 16, 2022, at locations along the 25th and 45th latitude. The total magnetic field intensity of each location was measured at four selected different altitudes, with a step of 25 km, while the examined terrestrial spots were differed by a step of 15° of longitude.

Calculation of the influence of the entropy of stars on the Earth's exosphere and the theory of entropic gravity

AB  - In the first part of this study, the entropic contribution of star objects, observable during the night between November 13 and 14, 2021, in the sky above Belgrade (Lat. 44o 49' 04'' N, Long. 20o 27' 25'' E, mean Elev. 117 m), Serbia, to the thermodynamic equilibrium of the Earth's exosphere, was determined. In the second part of the study, the force of gravitational attraction between the considered star objects and the Earth was calculated, by applying entropic gravity theory. The obtained results shed new light on the importance of star objects for sustaining the Earth's thermodynamic system.

AB  - We estimate the parameters of the Hybrid Palatini gravity model with the Schwarzschild precession of S-stars, specifically of the S2, S38 and S55 stars. We also take into account the case of bulk mass distribution near the Galactic Center. We assume that the Schwarzschild orbital precession of mentioned S-stars is the same as in General Relativity (GR) in all studied cases. In 2020, the GRAVITY Collaboration detected the orbital precession of the S2 star around the supermassive black hole (SMBH) at the Galactic Center and showed that it is close to the GR prediction. The astronomical data analysis of S38 and S55 orbits showed that, also in these cases, the orbital precession is close to the GR prediction. Based on this observational fact, we evaluated the parameters of the Hybrid Palatini Gravity model with the Schwarzschild precession of the S2, S38 and S55 stars, and we estimated the range of parameters of the Hybrid Palatini gravity model for which the orbital precession is as in GR for all three stars. We also evaluated the parameters of the Hybrid Palatini Gravity model in the case of different values of bulk mass density distribution of extended matter. We believe that proposed method is a useful tool to evaluate parameters of the gravitational potential at the Galactic Center. © 2022 by the authors. Licensee MDPI, Basel, Switzerland.

Magnetic Hysteresis Loops Revisited: Step Closer to Understand the Role of Exterior Angles

AB  - The characterization of nanocomposite samples which contain Cu, Fe-species, prepared by the sol-gel method, was established by Nikolić et al., in a previous article (Nikolić et al. in Journal of Solid State Physics 513:1, 2021). In this study, the magnetic behavior of nanocomposite samples was examined. The basic parameters of the room- and low-temperature magnetic hysteresis loops are discussed. To better describe the shape of magnetic hysteresis loop, the authors proposed to consider additional parameters - measures of the exterior angles of the hysteresis curve. Behavior of hysteresis parameters and exterior angles, caused by annealing treatment, was investigated by measuring hysteresis loops at two measured temperatures: 298K, and 5K. Correlation between changes in the behavior of hysteresis parameters and exterior angles was discussed. An attempt has been made to attribute physical meaning to chosen measured angles, which would allow a better understanding of the magnetic hysteresis curve. © 2022, The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer Science+Business Media, LLC, part of Springer Nature.

abstract = "The characterization of nanocomposite samples which contain Cu, Fe-species, prepared by the sol-gel method, was established by Nikolić et al., in a previous article (Nikolić et al. in Journal of Solid State Physics 513:1, 2021). In this study, the magnetic behavior of nanocomposite samples was examined. The basic parameters of the room- and low-temperature magnetic hysteresis loops are discussed. To better describe the shape of magnetic hysteresis loop, the authors proposed to consider additional parameters - measures of the exterior angles of the hysteresis curve. Behavior of hysteresis parameters and exterior angles, caused by annealing treatment, was investigated by measuring hysteresis loops at two measured temperatures: 298K, and 5K. Correlation between changes in the behavior of hysteresis parameters and exterior angles was discussed. An attempt has been made to attribute physical meaning to chosen measured angles, which would allow a better understanding of the magnetic hysteresis curve. © 2022, The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer Science+Business Media, LLC, part of Springer Nature.",

Познат је по Фридмановим једначинама које описују покретни свемир, тј. свемир који може да се шири, скупља и буде статичан у зависности од параметра к (кривине), у FLRW метрици. Мада су те једначине добили и други, као што је Жорж Леметр (Georges Lemaitre), Фридман их је први добио и објавио 1922 године. Ове једначине се и данас користе за процене астрономских мерења.
AB  - In this paper, we presented the participation of Alexander Friedmann in the Big Bang Theory. He is known for his Friedmman equations which describe the dynamic cosmos, ie. it expands, shrinks, and becomes static in depends on curvature parameter k in FLRW metric. By the way, these equations are given also, by others, such as, for example, Georges Lemaitre. Friedmann have got first equations and published in 1922 year. These equations are used for assessment of astronomical measurements today.

AB  - In this paper, we represented the participation of Abbe G. Lemaitre’s in the Big Bang Theory. He took part in theory of the expansion of cosmos and made Lemaître coordination system. He proposed the basic theoretical properties of the cosmos, which expands as predicted by Hubble’s law. Also he determined theoretically and experimental form of the Hubble law and first proposed the value of Hubble constant. He proposed model of cosmos which called “the Hypothesis of Primordial Atom” and later called it “the Begining of the World” or “the Cosmic Egg”.

AB  - У раду се дискутују основне информације о астероидима, до којих се дошло након њиховог скоријег открића (XIX век). Имајући у виду да је Србија у време открића првог астероида (1801) још увек била под турском влашћу (за време чије владавине се није придавала посебна пажња науци), а да развој астрономије у нашој земљи, практично, почиње 1926-е године, започињање серије окрића астероида само десет година након тог догађаја (1936), од стране српских научника, представља изванредан успех. Посебно ако узмемо у обзир да је Србија у то време била у веома тешкој геополитичкој ситуацији, јер се налазила између два светска рата. Последично, више пажње у овом раду, посвећено је српском астроному, Петру Ђурковићу, који је започео серију открића астероида, и тиме отворио ново поглавље у српској астрономији.

AB  - Abstract: The nanocomposite samples, containing copper and iron species in the silica matrix, were prepared by annealing at temperatures up to 1100°C. The samples were investigated by X-ray diffraction analysis, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, and cyclic voltammetry. The results of the performed study depict to the presence of a temperature gradient, which acts on the sample during the annealing treatment in the furnace. For the first time, the influence of the temperature gradient on the formation mechanism of the samples was discussed. © 2021, Pleiades Publishing, Ltd.

AB  - Military stuff handling the missile systems and radars can be exposed to pronounced microwave radiation, which is resulting in the serious impairment of employee health. Since hematite/silica and copper ferrite/silica composite materials are recognized in literature as suitable materials for microwave absorption, better insight in the properties of nanocomposites based on hematite and copper ferrite phases is of high importance for improvement of microwave absorption properties of mentioned materials. For this reason, composite material containing hematite and copper ferrite in silica matrix is prepared by sol-gel method. XRD and FTIR investigation are performed to study the structural and phase transformations of the examined material under thermal treatment. The obtained results are discussed in terms of temperature gradient, which is acting on the samples during the thermal treatment.

AB  - The scope of this chapter is to get deeper insight into the correlation between synthesis parameters and magnetic behavior of the nanocomposite materials containing hematite (α-Fe2O3) nanoparticles. Potential applications of nanohematite in biomedicine are listed in the short overview. Then, basic requirements necessary for synthesis of high-quality nanoparticles for biomedical application are summarized. The next part of the chapter is devoted to the sol-gel synthesis that is recognized as suitable for preparation of the nanocomposite materials containing α-Fe2O3 nanoparticles. Having in mind that sol-gel method considers preparation of hematite nanoparticles via Fe2O3 phase transformations initiated by thermal treatment at high temperatures, coexistence of the other iron oxides (such as ε-Fe2O3) with α-Fe2O3 phase is commented. Special attention is paid on mechanism of the critical field (which is in literature usually denoted as coercivity field) alterations. Diffraction patterns and hysteresis measurements of the chosen samples containing hematite nanoparticles in the silica matrix are represented. Finally, variations in the observed measured critical field values are discussed.

AB  - Application of nanomaterials for electrocatalysts requires usage of low-cost and ecofriendly materials, characterized by high surface activity and stability. Due to low prices, high electrocatalytic activity, and eco-friendly behavior, transition metal-based nanocomposite materials are recognized as a potential replacement of precious metal electrocatalysts. The most straightforward way to improve properties of applied magnetic nanomaterials in electrocatalysts is to alter the synthesis approach, since it is known that variation of synthesis conditions enables tailoring of materials magnetic and catalytic properties. In this chapter is discussed the application of magnetic nanomaterials in hydrogen production and in biomedicine, since these areas nowadays attract the highest scientific attention and offer the most attractive future returns.

Observation of c-CuFe2O4 nanoparticles of the same crystallite size in different nanocomposite materials: The influence of Fe3+ cations

AB  - Two samples containing 2-line ferrihydrite and copper oxide were synthesized by coprecipitation method, via variation of Fe3+ and Cu2+ precursors milimolar ratio (3:1 and 3:3.1), while the other synthesis parameters were kept constant. Annealing treatment at 1100 °C resulted in the formation of c-CuFe2O4-CuO-α-Fe2O3 and c-CuFe2O4-CuO nanocomposites, respectively. A comparison of properties of the prepared samples was performed by XRD, FTIR and EPR measurements. Formation mechanism of the nanocomposites is discussed with a reference to the influence of Jahn-Teller effect in CuO phase on the final CuFe2O4 structure. For the first time, it is shown that the amount of Fe3+ precursor is of key importance for the size of CuFe2O4 nanoparticles, and enables preparation of c-CuFe2O4 nanoparticles of the same crystallite size (46 nm) in different nanocomposite materials. © 2019 Elsevier Inc.

AB  - Abstract: Origin of the intrinsic coercivity field variations observed by hysteretic measurements established by Nikolic et al. was investigated in detail by ZFC/FC measurements. AB  - Abstract: ε-Fe2O3 phase is recognized as an attractive material, in both technological and scientific point of view, since it can achieve very high room-temperature coercivity (10–20 kOe). In this paper, multi-phase samples Fe2O3/SiO2 with slightly different Fe/Si molar ratio were produced by sol–gel synthesis route. The obtained samples were characterized by various experimental techniques including XRD, TA, FTIR, and SQUID (DC and AC magnetic measurements). It was found that both samples consisted of α-Fe2O3 and ε‑Fe2O3 phases embedded in the silica matrix, and showed very similar structural and magnetic properties, except that displayed significantly different room-temperature intrinsic coercivity field values: HciS1 = 14.3 kOe and HciS2 = 7.5 kOe. We have discussed possible origin of thus high intrinsic coercivity field variation.

AB  - We performed structural and magnetic investigation of Fe3O4/OA nanoparticles prepared by solvothermal method. Based on XRD, TEM and FTIR examination, investigated sample contained monodisperse, 5 nm-sized spherical magnetite nanoparticles coated with oleic acid. Magnetic measurement of the hysteretic curves at 5 K in zero-field cooled (ZFC) and field-cooled (FC) regime confirmed presence of exchange bias effect. ZFC/FC measurements were performed in applied magnetic fields: 10 Oe, 100 Oe, 200 Oe, 500 Oe and 1000 Oe. Zero-field cooled magnetization curves recorded in 10 Oe and 100 Oe exhibited behavior characteristic for low coercivity Nanomaterials. Same sample exposed to the ZFC/FC measurement protocol in 200 Oe, 500 Oe and 1000 Oe showed increase in ZFC magnetization in the certain temperature range. The observed feature is attributed to the local changes in the magnetite electronic structure, occurred through the spin reorientation process. © 2019 Elsevier Ltd and Techna Group S.r.l.

AB  - Nanocomposite material containing NiO nanoparticles decorated on WO3 nanowires could be used for monitoring levels of H2S gas. The effectiveness of this material is mostly determined by NiO properties. The performed study presents the first stage in the preparation of modified NiO/WO3 nanocomposite material. In this article, NiO nanoparticles are prepared by a simple, low-cost method.The behavior of nano-sized NiO particles is probed by X-ray diffraction, Fourier transform Infrared Spectroscopy, Raman spectroscopy, and hysteretic measurement.

AB  - Composite materials containing hematite and silica nanoparticles are recognized as a suitable electromagnetic waves absorbers, which is of importance for various military applications. To improve quality of absorbers based on hematite-silica nanocomposite materials, it is necessary to achieve better understanding of hematite nanoparticles magnetic properties. In this study, α-Fe2O3 nanoparticles embedded in the silica matrix are prepared by the sol-gel method. The silica matrix is used in order to reduce the influence of strong interparticle interactions. XRD analysis shows that the mean crystallite size of hematite is 11 nm. Magnetic analysis comprised zero-field cooled and field-cooled (ZFC/FC) measurements of temperature dependent magnetization and magnetic susceptibility, since the acquisition of the mentioned curves, following the ZFC/FC protocol, presents a common tool to examine the magnetic behavior of the investigated nanocomposite material.

Unusual temperature dependence of coercivity in ε-Fe2O3 phase

AB  - Nano iron oxides have been intensively investigated due to their various potential biomedical applications. ε-Fe2O3 phase exerted internal coercivity value up to ~20 kOe, high Curie temperature (Tc= 510 K), and magnetoelectric character. Accordingly, epsilon phase is recognized as a suitable material for medical spintronic biosensors production, that present important part for the lab-on-a-chip systems. Noteworthy, ε-Fe2O3 phase exerts peculiar magnetic behavior. To get better insight into the magnetism of this material, ε-Fe2O3/SiO2 sample was prepared by the combination of the sol-gel synthesis and microemulsion method (Tann=1050 °C, tann= 4h). Afterwards, the sample was exposed to post-annealing treatment at 100 °C and 200 °C. Synthesized material was preliminary examined by XRD and SQUID techniques. Coercivity changes, induced by the post-annealing temperature oscillations, were monitored by hysteretic measurements. Sample annealed at 1050 °C for 4h, showed coercivity ~20 kOe. The same sample performed to the post-annealing treatment at 100 °C, exerted significantly decreased coercivity (~1600 Oe). Further rise of the post-annealing temperature (200 °C) resulted in the increased coercivity ~15 kOe. Obtained study showed that there is insufficient knowledge concerning the ε-Fe2O3 coercivity changes of the polymorph. The more detailed investigation will be conducted, in order to advance the control of the epsilon phase magnetic properties. © 2018 TANGER Ltd. All Rights Reserved.

AB  - Samples containing CuFe2O4 and CuO nanoparticles were synthesized by coprecipitation method and subjected to thermal treatment at 300 °C, 500 °C, 700 °C, 900 °C and 1100 °C. Depending on the synthesis conditions, high-temperature treatment of the prepared samples brought to the formation of CuFe2O4 with a tetragonal or cubic structure, which was confirmed by X-ray diffraction analysis. The influence of formation mechanism onto the crystallite sizes of nanoparticles and structural transformation of CuFe2O4 is discussed. For the first time it was shown that variations of the initial amount of Fe3+ and Cu2+ ions precursors resulted in the formation of low- and high-temperature CuFe2O4 phase at the same annealing temperature, 1100 °C. © 2018

AB  - Magnetic properties of Fe2O3/SiO2 samples were studied after being produced by sol-gel synthesis and formation of epsilon-Fe2O3 polymorph. Samples were thermally treated, using different annealing temperatures and annealing times. The size and morphological characteristics of the iron oxide nanoparticles were examined using a TEM microscope. We used the ellipticity of shapes, which is a measure of how much the shape of a nanoparticle differs from a perfect ellipse, in order to quantitatively describe morphological properties of nanoparticles. Coercivity measurements were used to identify and monitor the formation of the epsilon-iron oxide phase during the thermal treatments (annealing). Coercivity values were in the range from 1.2 to 15.4 kOe, which is in accordance with previous experience regarding the existence of epsilon-Fe2O3. We have determined the optimal formation conditions for the epsilon-Fe2O3 polymorph (t=1050 degrees C for 7 h, H-c=15.4 kOe), as well as the narrow temperature interval (1050-1060 C) in which the polymorph abruptly vanished (H-c=2300 Oe), on the basis of results of the magnetic properties. The threshold temperature for the epsilon-Fe2O3 phase transformation was measured as 1060 degrees C. We found that different annealing temperatures and annealing times significantly affected magnetic properties of the examined samples.

TEM analysis showed a wide size distribution of iron oxide nanoparticles (from 4 to 50 nm) with various morphologies (spherical, ellipsoidal and rod-like). We quantitatively described (computational analysis, MATLAB code) morphological properties of nanoparticles using the ellipticity of the shapes. The as-synthesized hard magnetic material was subjected to a post-annealing treatment at different temperatures (200, 500, 750, 1000 and 1100 degrees C) in order to investigate stability, formation and transformation of the epsilon-Fe2O3 polymorph. We found decreasing coercivity in the thermally treated samples up to the temperature of 750 degrees C (H-c=1245 Oe), followed by an observation of a surprising jump in coercivity H-c similar to 1.5 T after post-annealing at 1000 degrees C. We conclude that the re-formation of the epsilon-Fe2O3 structure during post-annealing at 1000 degrees C is the origin of the observed phenomena. The phase transformation epsilon-Fe2O3 - GT alpha-Fe2O3 and crystallization of amorphous silica in quartz and cristobalite were observed in the sample treated at 1100 degrees C.
