dc.description.abstract | The results of coprecipitation and sorption of strontium by amorphous and crystalline hydroxyapatite are presented. Coprecipitation experiments, performed over a wide range of experimental conditions, have confirmed that strontium is incorporated into hydroxyapatite by the isomorphous substitution of calcium. Adsorption on the surface of well crystallized hydroxyapatite follows a Langmuir adsorption isotherm with a monolayer capacity of 1.5x10(-4) mol g(-1). | en |
