We study the conductivity of the linear molecular chains taking into account the changes of phonon spectra due to the small–polaron effect. It was found that the phonon hardening may lead to a considerable enhancement of the band as well as hopping conductivity. Character and the degree of these changes are determined by the values of the basic physical parameters of system, coupling constant and adiabatic parameter, and temperature as well. In particular: the increase of adiabatic parameter intensifies the hardening of phonon spectrum which in turn leads to a significant increase of the small–polaron conductivity. Quite on the contrary the increase of the coupling constant has the opposite tendency. The rise of temperature has practically the same consequences. This is the consequence of the increase of the effective coupling constant with the rise of temperature.
